A small team that treats code like craft.
Mochacidal Industries, LLC is a software and data engineering company based in Washington State, United States. We build systems we would want to inherit.
Who we are
Mochacidal is a senior-only engineering consultancy. There is no bench, no account layer, and no hand-off to a junior team after the contract is signed: the people you scope the work with are the people who craft it. That constraint is deliberate. It keeps the company small, and it means we only take on work we can actually do well.
Our background is in systems design, architecture and data pipelines — the unglamorous middle of the stack where an API meets a warehouse, where a report that should take four minutes takes four hours, and where the fix is usually a schema decision someone made two years ago.
What we do
Three things, mostly, and often in combination:
- Custom software. Web applications, internal tools and SaaS products built to be operated, not just shipped. See our services.
- Data engineering. Pipelines that ingest, transform and load critical business data without needing a human standing over them — including MochaFlux, our Amazon-reports-to-Snowflake product.
- Cloud and Snowflake consulting. Performance, cost and architecture work on infrastructure that has outgrown its original design.
How we work
We scope in writing, we estimate honestly, and we tell you when something is a worse idea than it looks. Projects are delivered against a written scope with a fixed point of contact, and the code, schema and deployment configuration stay yours at the end.
We are opinionated about a few things: boring technology where boring technology is correct, tests around the parts that cost money to get wrong, and documentation that a new engineer can actually follow. We are equally opinionated that a project should have a defined end, so you can stop paying us.
We use AI heavily, as a tool rather than an author. If you want the detail — what it generates, what it reviews, and what stays human — it is written up in how we use AI.
Things we run ourselves
We do not only build for clients. Everything on this site is ours, and both products are in beta:
- MochaFlux — a SaaS platform that schedules and loads Amazon reports into Snowflake automatically. It is invite-only while we finish the rollout; get in touch if you want access.
- NanoGenesis — a free browser idle game about growing a nanobot swarm until it can enclose a star in a Dyson sphere. It is also an experiment in game design: the mechanics and systems are ours, and we use AI to bring the vision and the artwork to life. It runs entirely client-side and plays offline.
Running our own products keeps us honest. It is one thing to advise on operational cost and on-call load; it is another to carry a pager for them.

A short description of the problem is enough to start. If we're not the right fit, we'll say so and point you at someone who is.
